Low Carbon Learning

There's no need to travel – lower your carbon footprint and your costs by training with Retendo

At Retendo we keep our carbon footprint as low as possible because we believe that we should do our bit to help the planet. By choosing to train with Retendo you are also making a contribution. Here's how...

All of our courses are delivered online so you don’t need to battle your way through the traffic to the nearest training centre. Instead you can sit back and benefit from world-class instructor-led training from a location of your choice (as long as you have a broadband connection that is). The point is, you not only save money, time, and stress by not having to travel, but you also lower your carbon footprint and contribute towards a better environment for one and all.

Go green with Retendo

As soon as you book a course with Retendo you make a positive impact on the environment. We have decided to embrace reforestation projects within the UK. Working in partnership with co2balance.com, our pledge is to offset the CO2 omissions that you would have incurred by travelling to your nearest Microsoft training centre. So for example, if you would have travelled 100 miles we'll contribute a fiver!

Our donations will be used to support the Sand Martin Wood Project

Sand Martin Wood, Cumbria Project

The village of Faugh in Cumbria is almost halfway between The Lake District and the Northumberland National Park. Sand Martin Wood is just outside the village and gets its name from the large colony of Sand Martins that nest nearby in the sandy hillside. The land was acquired by co2balance in September 2006. The majority of the land has been sown with a typical pasture seed mix and had been managed in such a way as to produce a monoculture that did little for biodiversity. Afforestation of the former agricultural land is now underway and it is expected that a woodland of 6 hectares will have been created alongside a 3 hectare County Wildlife Site that is also in our control. The land and trees will remain in the ownership of co2balance and will be managed for the benefit of clients, the climate, the environment and the local community in perpetuity. A typical mix of native UK, broadleafed trees will be planted here over the next two years including oak, ash, beech, willow, cherry and field maple as well as suitable understorey like thorn, hazel and viburnum.
